The Bioenergiepark Hof/Saale has brought a new chamber of the mobile silo into service just in time for the maize harvest of 2012. The new chamber will hold about 5000 tonnes. In its current expanded form, the entire silo can accept ca. 20,000 tonnes in one go, or over 30,000 tonnes in several operations given that the Bioenergiepark utilizes a substrate mix with different harvesting dates.
The Bioenergy Park Hof/Saale took a new chamber of the silo in operation in time for the 2012 corn harvest. The new chamber has a capacity of approximately 5000 tons. The whole silo can hold approximately 20,000 tons at a time, or about 30,000 tons through multiple use at this stage of development because the Bioenergy Park uses a substrate mix with different harvest dates.
The remaining earthwork measures should be completed within this year. The Bioenergy Park occupies an area of 5 hectares of which approximately 1.5 hectares are still arable for expansion investments.
Future investment could be for example a drying plant to process fermentation residues into a high-quality dry fertilizer.
The Bioenergy Park is still interested in contacts to the farms that want to provide renewable raw materials.
